Although the book recommend iMovie and ReelDirector for video editing, I didn't use these two applications. I used a free application: Splice (http://spliceapp.com/).
As recommended by the book, cutting down the length of video to be 3 minutes at most. Using three photos for one to three seconds between video clips. The key to making video is reduction process, cutting down the length. Three seconds on each subject matter is recommended. Putting short video clips together into a video of less than three minutes to ensure the viewer would not lose interest.
So I went out to take video on iPhone. With the iPhone earphone as remote control cable, it is not too obvious on the street when you start taking pictures and video clips of people.
With the convenience of a single device, from taking pictures and video clips to editing and making a short video presentation, it would be fun for anyone to start playing with it.
The only issue I face is the inability to control colour temperature or white balance when taking video on iPhone. In the process of searching for a solution for controlling white balance, I came across Blux Camera Pro (http://bluxtouch.com/camera/), which is free and with a unique user interface and a lot of control for photo taking, even a on screen level meter. There is also Blux Movie, but I have yet to try out.
You can't find any setting on Blux Pro to control the shutter using the iPhone earphone on their documentation. However I found that using the Voice Control mode, you can control the shutter as you can press the button on the iPhone earphone which product a noise loud enough to actuate the shutter.
